3 Kinds of People whose prayer are not answered

3 KINDS OF PEOPLE WHOSE PRAYER ARE NOT ANSWERED

Almost of the people believe God answers their prayer. In today’s topic we are going to consider that not all people are heard by God.

1. THOSE WHO DO NOT OBEY GOD’S WORD

Spending time to learn God’s Word is a foundation for an answered prayer. You cannot know exactly what God’s will is and asking His will without inquiring His inspired word. But most of us, we have always a struggle whether to obey God or we are going to follow our own desires. One of the most favored rulers in Israel, King Solomon says in Proverbs, “He who turns away his ear from listening to the law, even his prayer is an abomination.” [28:9, NASB]
In John 15:7, Jesus promised His disciples, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” The Bible is very clear about the contribution of knowing and doing the Will of God through His word for Him to answer our prayers.
Our biological fathers sometimes put certain conditions on how they will give us what we ask. Sometimes they tell us that if we are going to be a good child He will give us something. And if we disobey those conditions we can expect they are not going to grant us our request.
The easiest way to receive answers to your prayer is obeying the Lord.

2. THOSE WHO DO NOT REPENT OF THEIR SINS

What God wants from us is we obey His Words and certainly that opens a door of blessing from God. So, if Obedience brings blessings, our disobedience and willful deliberate sin will closes our way to God’s ear [Psalms 66:18].
Sin is a dangerous thing. It destroys an individual, a group; a family; marriage; friendship and above all Sin can separate a person from God. Isaiah 59:2 says, “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.” [NASB].

The Lord disciplined David when He took Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah who he put to death. “[9] Why have you despised the word of the Lord by doing evil in His sight? You have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword, have taken his wife to be your wife, and have killed him with the sword of the sons of Ammon. [10] Now therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife. [11] Thus says the Lord, ‘Behold, I will raise up evil against you from your own household; I will even take your wives before your eyes and give them to your companion, and he will lie with your wives in broad daylight. [12] Indeed you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, and under the sun. [13] Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord,” And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has taken away your sin; you shall not die. [14] ‘However, because by this deed you have given occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also that is born to you shall surely die.” [NASB]

God heard the confession of David about his sin (1 John 1:9) but his repentance didn’t stop the discipline of God.

If God teaches David, a man after His own heart to learn from His sin, how much more God will discipline us of our sins?

If we reject God’s offer of forgiveness how are we going to expect Him to answer our prayers?

3. THOSE WHO DO NOT FORGIVE OTHERS
As much as possible we should strive to live in peace with all men [Hebrews 12:14]. We should forgive those who offended us. Be reconciled with our enemies. Having such conflict is not living in peace.

Jesus affirmed, “My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart” [Matthew 18:36 – NASB]. Do you read that? If we do not forgive God will not forgive us either. And we know that an unforgiven or a sinner will not be heard by God. Our unforgiven estate will not bring us to heaven and it will make the promises of God from His Word ineffective for us.

God is as well much concern how we treat others.

Like everyone, we have struggled in our prayer and sometimes doubted if God really hears us. These three tests may help you answer your doubt why whether you are heard or not. If you found yourself unforgiving it means you are unforgiven. God is offering you forgiveness and reconciliation by faith His Son Jesus who died for your sins.
